Pa Dembo backs Azziz move
Estranged Gambian goalkeeper Pa Dembo Touray has backed compatriot Azziz Corr Nyang to be a good signing for his first division Swedish club.
Pa Dembo spoke in reaction to reports in Sweden that the gifted Gambian striker was a January transfer target for Djurgarden, which released Azziz after two seasons at the Stockholm club.
“He is full of skills. He is technically good and he is very creative on the ball. In addition, he is young and ambitious,” said Pa Dembo, Djurgarden’s top choice keeper for the past three seasons.
Pa Dembo, who played with Azziz from 2002 to 2004, said Djurgarden should have no hesitations in getting the striker back.
“I heard some rumors that Djurgården are interested, but I do not know more about it but the club should sign him.”
Others who worked with Azziz in the past support Djurgarden’s move for him.
Zoran Lukic, who managed Djurgarden when Azziz first joined the club, said of his former charge: “I know him very well; he is a very good player and will offer a lot to Djurgården.”
