Gam duo get valuable minutes
With no game in MLS this weekend, TFC coach Chris Cummins arranged a training match at BMO Field Thursday to give some squad players valuable match action.
The Reds faced Ontario Cup Champions Real Toronto and ran out 3-0 winners with goals from O'Brian White, Lesly Fellinga and Academy player Vincenzo Sasso.Among the players in action were the Gambian duo of midfielder Amadou Sanyang and defender Emmanuel Gomez who are proving to be important players on the Reds roster as they both played the whole game.
"I needed to see some of the players in match action," said Cummins. "I wanted to see players like O'Brian White, Amadou Sanyang and Emmanuel Gomez get 90 minutes because I know that over the next few weeks it is going to be a squad game.
“I have challenged all of the players that have not been starting the games to come in and make a difference. Today's [Thursday] game was all about that, and in the first half the team didn't show enough energy, but in the second half it was a big improvement."
