Badou Jack set to return in two days time

Gambian boxer Badou JackTwenty-eight year old Gambian boxer Badou Jack is set to return to the ring on December 16th at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

Jack, who is trained by world class trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, was last seen scoring a 5th round knockout over Eddie Caminero back in October. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight clash between Marco Antonio Rubio and Matt Vanda.

“I was supposed to fight this undefeated guy [Alexander Brand], who is 15-0 with 13 knockouts, but he pulled out. Now they are looking for me an opponent,” stated Jack, when he was contacted by Fight Hype to fill them in on his scheduled bout.

Badou Jack, also known as The Ripper was born in Stockholm, Sweden to a Gambian father and Swedish mother. He began boxing in 2001 at the age of 18. In 2007, Jack was named the boxer of the year by the Swedish Boxing Federation.

He represented Sweden at light-heavyweight before changing to Gambia, where he qualified for the 2008 Games. At the 2nd AIBA African 2008 Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Windhoek, Namibia, he breezed through the competition to win; the final was a shutout win over DR Congo’s Herry Saliku Biembe while at the Olympics, he lost in the first round to India’s Vijender Kumar.
