Joe Sise and his Nordsjælland falter at home

Gambia hopeful Joe Sise and his Danish Superligaen side FC Nordsjælland missed the chance to capitalise on a rare slip by Danish Superligaen leaders FC Copenhagen after going down to a 2-1 defeat at home to Brøndby.

This is the first game they lost since the restart of the second round of the Superligaen on March 3rd. Simon Makienok Christoffersen opened the scoring for Paul “Apapa” Jatta’s former team Brøndby IF in the 25th minute when he sent home a low cross from Daniel Norouzi past a helpless Jesper Hansen for a 1-0 lead.

In the 57th minute, Nordsjælland equalized through a penalty by Nikolai Stokholm. On the kick, Brøndby keeper Michael Tørnes got his hands on the shot but was unable to stop the ball completely as it rolled into the net.

In the 75th minute, Goodson put Brøndby ahead for good when he headed home a cross delivered by Michael Krohn-Dehli.

Despite the loss, Sise and his Nordsjælland remain in second place but they now trail Copenhagen by five points. They have a four point lead over third place AC Horsens.
