Gambian striker Ibou Sawaneh and his Belgian Jupiler Pro league side RAEC Mons succumbed to their second successive draw on Saturday as OH Leuven came from behind to force a 2-2 draw in their match away to 10-man Mons.
The hosts led 2-0 by half-time thanks to goals from striker Ibou Sawaneh and Jeremy Perbet, before Jordan Remacle pulled one back for Leuven a minute past the hour mark.
Mons’ Nicolas Timmermans received a straight red card when he conceded a penalty with five minutes remaining.
And Remacle made no mistake from the spot, netting the equaliser and completing his brace to earn Leuven a share of the spoils. The draw leaves Sawaneh’s Mons at 9th in the 16-team-table with 28 points. Up next for them is a visit away to Standard Liège.
Meanwhile in the Turkish Bank Asya 1. Lig [second tier], Ousman Jallow’s Çaykur Rizespor were thrashed 3-0 by Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyesi on Monday.
Goals from Ramazan Altintepe [who scored a brace] and Serdar Deliktas was enough to give Gazientep the 3-0 lead. Ous went the full length for Rizespor but was kept away from scoring alongside strike-partner Severin Brice Bikoko.
The defeat leaves them lying 5th in the 18-team-table with 30 points and up next for them is a home game against Adanaspor FK.
